Children's Centres - P.A.F.T - One 2 One - Success Stories

At Acitiv-Dads we realise that run of the mill activities can be tedious but we strive to bring something that is different and exciting and keeps you coming back for more.

Our projects are great fun and allow you to meet new people at the same time as developing your parenting skills. One of our projects involved two groups one for Blues fans and one for Villa fans.

The project was story telling skills for your children which involved activities. The Villa group received a tour of the ground, a Villa shirt, tickets to the Inter Milan friendly an hour-of-five a side football together with picking up some new story telling ideas for their children. The Blues fans got the same deal and although it came to an end after 5 weeks we all still meet up for a game of footy every fortnight.

We have been on many brilliant trips with the Dads, from spending a long rain soaked day in Rhyl to a summer picnic in Cannon Hill Park. The trips give Dads a chance to meet Dads from other local groups and to get out of the local area and see different places. When planning these trips we find out what the Dads want, as with everything that we do, but we also take into consideration the cost, as we want our Dads to be able to repeat these trips outside of the project.

Any cost involved is minimal and when a larger cost is involved such as our recent Rhyl trip (£5 per Dad - £3 per child), Dads are given plenty of notice and can pay in installments if that makes it easy for them.
